What is, What is? Who is, Who is? What is?
A poem about interrogation of art, consuming and contextualizing all of that.
What is art without heart? It’s as strong as a single matchstick It stands alone without support Although it lights a flame, it burns quick Its value is fleeting just like the ideas it purports What is art without struggle? Does it exist as a single- thing without compare? Does it float like a bag without direction? Does it falter under scrutiny? Who is an artist without empathy? Has the world beaten into them apathy? Is their work made joyfully? Do they acknowledge the fallacy? Who is the enthusiast without context? Do they consume without regard? Reading, watching or listening with separation? Or do they know we all exist in relation? What is art without heart? It’s nothing but an empty promise A case without substance - or air A plight without a fight
